What I love about Writing...

Since I was a child, there was one thing that I love to do while I was in school: Writing. I remember the first time when I fell in love with it. It was in my forth grade class when my teacher introduced me and my classmates to the world of creative writing. The first time I did it, I love it! Every since then, I been addicted to the world of creative writing. I written about  everything. I wrote a story about my first celebrity crush, about my favorites television  shows and movies, there was one I had written about myself and my family. What I love about Creative writing is I love the method of creating ideas in my mind. I love the idea of writing something that shock or surprise people, or something that comes from a different perspective. What is better is that now I am a college student, I have the opportunity to express myself in my essays. The goal I am trying to accomplish is to enhance my usage of grammar. I feel if I can do that, I would be an outstanding writer. My dream is that one day, Along side with my career, I will have my opportunity to write my own novel of any gene I like in the future!

I believe I can do it!

Since I started my accelerated English 002 class 3 weeks ago, the experience has been pretty hectic from the start. I never thought that I would have assignments on top of assignments, learn how to use my brain memory quickly when it came to writing exams, and what was more surprising to me is that on the first day of class, he had to write our first essay! Nevertheless, in my opinion what I think about my whole experience with the class is that it was really fascinating. I felt the determination of my professor for me and my classmates to work hard and pass the course. Also, I feel that I learned some new skills that I didn't fully learned in my last semester. What is working for me are the methods to improve my grammar. I really found the skills that are taught in class, as well as in the textbook very helpful. What I need to change up is my pace when it comes down to getting my assignments done on time. What is working for me is the time frame of the class. It feels encouraging when there is an opportunity that I can ask my professor a question if I am confusing about something. What is not working for me is not having enough time to practice  how to be specific when it comes down to essays. Also, not having enough time to go over some additional grammar I don't clearly understand. What do I need to pass this class in March is to work harder to improve the skills that I learn so far  and have the confidence to believe that I can do it!

Why Cell Phones are a Curse??

Last Friday in my English class, me and my classmates heard a very encouraging message from Eric Thomas about the sacrifice a student has to make in order to succeed through college. One of the things that he doesn't clearly mention are the unnecessary usage of cell phones... one of the most major problems in today's society. I never realized that it was serious problem until my classmate  McKenna had challenged the whole class into turning off our cell phones every class session. I did not have a problem turning off my phone because it saves a lot of battery energy. I find it very useful, and I think most students should try it. But, I have to admit, I got a little uncomfortable when that include I could not take my phone with me during break. What is the deal with the cell phones from my option is that phones are another way that I can keep up with my friends, the latest information on my favorite celebrity"Oh! Justin Timberlake is going to be a daddy!", Shop through an app, and watch my favorite television shows. Another reason  why cell phone are a big deal is because it is more easy when I’m texting. I am a somewhat of a shy person, so I am more comfortable typing in words rather than having a oral conversation. My cell phone is cool; but also, it is a pain! There were times that I would get frustrated with it! The last time it happened was over the half of my summer semester last year. The only time I ever touched my phone was only for important phone calls and You Tube when I was bored. That was the moment that I found that I felt more free to focus on important things rather than a phone in my hand.

Being Real

Last Friday, my classmates and I were assigned to do schedule sheet over the weekend. As I was completing the assignment, I noticed it was a very challenging and it opened my eyes to realize, there were some priorities that I need to change in order to be successful to pass my course. Yes, it may seem silly to change my daily activities when I am only taking one course. I have to be honest, it feels that I am juggling another class! It is an English accelerated program and the work assignment are enough to drive me crazy, along with my part-time job with flexible hours. I need a reality check! What I can do to realistically change my schedule to be successful, is to narrow down my hours at my job and learn to carefully organize my daily activities The first step I can take, I can talk to my boss about my situation and ask If I can have a day off from work, if necessary, to work on my assignments. The second step I can take is, to keep track of my activities by setting up a weekly schedule. How I can be realistically real, is to open my eyes and take time with my work, learn to take time to read, not rush, and most importantly, learn to FOLLOW Directions! I feel by taking this course of action, I can remain focused, complete all my assignments, and do my very best in passing English 002!
